Tomatillo Sauce RecipeMakes about 2 cups
Ingredients: 1 1/2 pounds tomatillos, husked 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 teaspoon each: chopped garlic, serrano chili 3 tablespoons chopped cilantro 2-3 teaspoons sugar Salt and white pepper, to taste |
Method: Cook tomatillos in 2-inches simmering water in large saucepan until tender, 5 to 8 minutes, drain and cool. Process tomatillos, onion, garlic, chili and cilantro in food processor or blender until almost smooth. Heat sauce to boiling in lightly greased large skillet, reduce heat and simmer until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Season to taste with sugar, salt and pepper. |
