Sicilian Beef and Rice Recipe

4 servings



1 package frozen pepper and onion blend

1 teaspoon minced garlic

12 ounces ground beef round

2 cans reduced-sodium tomato sauce

2-3 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

3 cups cooked long-grain rice or pasta, warm

3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese


Cook pepper and onion blend, garlic, and ground beef in lightly greased large skillet over medium heat until beef is browned and vegetables are tender, about 6 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce and Italian seasoning, simmer, uncovered, until thickened, about 20 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve with rice, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
