One-Step Cassoulet Recipe8 servings
Ingredients: 1 pound lean pork loin, fat trimmed, cubed 8 ounces lean lamb, cubed 4 ounces smoked turkey sausage, thickly sliced 3 slices low-sodium bacon, coarsely chopped 3 cans Great Northern beans, rinsed, drained 2 cans reduced-sodium diced tomatoes, undrained 2 cans reduced-sodium tomato paste 4 shallots or pearl onions, halved 2 teaspoons minced garlic 1 rib celery, sliced 1 bay leaf 1 teaspoon each: dried sage and thyme leaves 1/2 teaspoon each: salt, pepper 1 cup unseasoned dry bread crumbs |

Method: Combine all ingredients, except bread crumbs in Dutch oven, sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake, covered, at 325 degrees until meats are tender, about 1 hour, bake, uncovered, until sauce is thickened, about 15 minutes. Discard bay leaf. |
