Peasant-Style Pasta with Beans, Tomatoes and Sage Recipe

Ingredients:

1 can each: red kidney greens, Great Northern or cannellini beans, rinsed, drained

1/2 cup each: chopped onion, celery

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can plum tomatoes, drained, chopped

2 cups reduced-sodium chicken broth

1 teaspoon dried sage leaves

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

16 ounces mostaccioli, cooked, warm

Method:

Heat all ingredients, except mostaccioli, to boiling in large saucepan. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, 5 minutes, simmer, uncovered, until mixture is desired sauce consistency, about 20 minutes. Serve over pasta.
