These crisp toast cups can be filed with just about any hot or cold, sweet or savory filling. Bake the Croustades up to a week in advance and store in an airtight container.

 

Ingredients:

16 slices soft white or whole wheat bread

Butter-flavored cooking spray

Method:

Cut 2 1/2-inch rounds out of bread slices with cookie cutter (remaining bread can be used for croutons or soft or dry bread crumbs). Press bread rounds firmly into 16 greased mini-muffin cups. Spray bread generously with cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees until browned and crisp, 10 to 20 minutes.
