Tarte Tatin Crust Recipe

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves

Pinch salt

4 tablespoons cold margarine or butter cut into pieces

5-6 tablespoons ice water


Combine flour, baking powder, thyme, and salt in medium bowl, cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add water a tablespoon at a time, mixing lightly with a fork after each addition, until dough just holds together. Refrigerate, covered, at least 30 minutes.
